The news section will feature all the latest information regarding Poodles.
The Poodle Council website is brought to you by people who have a lifetime of immense knowledge on Poodles and are trying to protect the history and longevity of the breed by educating possible newcomers and guiding those interested in owning a Poodle the responsible way to finding their lifelong companion.
We are dedicated to the preservation of the Poodle!
We deal ONLY with reputable Poodle breeders who put health, welfare and temperament first to conform within the breed standard. Our breed standard has changed very little ever since Poodles were recognised by the Royal Kennel Club, it is only the 'show haircut' that has really modernised the breed.
We always strongly recommend contacting your local breed club, this is a good place to start your search.
For those just looking for a family companion, Poodles come in 3 sizes, of many different 'solid colours' and you can have your Poodle trimmed in any style to suit you.
Please do not insult our devout Poodle lovers by enquiring on Poodle Mixes or Poodle Merles, we find it insulting that our breed is being destroyed in this way when there is a Poodle size, colour and trim style to suit everyone.
'Why Doodle when you can Poodle'
If a breeder does not participate in either conformation (dog showing), performance (hunting, working, obedience, agility etc), there should be heightened concern and added attention to verifying the breeders ethics and responsibility. If a breeder does not participate in any of the mentioned above then why and what is their purpose of breeding?
What do they know about breeding, the primary focus in breeding is to improve the breed, which requires breeding dogs with correct temperaments, good conformation structure, soundness and healthy.
Where is their knowledge of selecting the correct dogs to breed together! How much do they know about whelping a litter of puppies and raising them until they leave for their new homes!
Please be patient as some sections of this website are not yet finished!
